AUSTIN, TX (April 5, 2016): BanQu Inc. (www.banquapp.com), a fintech company offering the revolutionary economic identity centric payment solution to the more than 2.5B global unbanked, today announced it has been selected to present at FinovateSpring 2016. This demo is BanQu’s premier presentation of The BanQu App to an open audience of the world’s global, financial community. The Finovate presentation follows BanQu’s successful participation in the Village Capital 2016 SXSW FinTech Showcase and is a precursor to this June’s presentation at the ICT4D Conference in Nairobi, Kenya for the Livelihoods & Financial Inclusion Track, entitled Blockchain for Good.
BanQu is a blockchain based identity platform that enables a secure and immutable solution that redefines financial inclusion. The BanQu App enables economic opportunities for people living in extreme poverty with its proprietary method of identification using a mashup of selfies and other personally identifying information to create an “Economic Identity”. “Economic Identity’s can then be extended with critical pieces of information such as credit and transactional data, land rights, voter registration, relationships, health records etc. thus creating a unique, electronic financial identity that can be used in the global economy.
The BanQu network allows for the digitizing of traditional community trust networks and corresponding reputational data allowing the otherwise unbankable population to connect, through the BanQu Network, to the global economy.
“The Finovate Team and all our participants are eager to see the BanQu solution in action. BanQu’s cutting-edge approach to banking and financial inclusion is quite innovative” said Eric Mattson, CEO of Finovate. “BanQu’s approach to poverty reduction is designed in the simplest of ways that mirror how the world’s poor live day-to-day.”
The founders of BanQu Inc., including Ashish Gadnis and Hamse Warfa have extensive experience in cross-border aid, refugee, business development and other disciplines as a result of the life-long dedication to global philanthropic as well as aid and social enterprise organizations. This, in conjunction with Jeff Keiser, Tim Myers, and others who have a career of banking experience (they have a background working with the global financial services giants), which allows them to production and solution innovate with a full understanding of the complexity and security requirements of global regulations, banks, and financial systems.
